Need help? Design is the process through which spaces, objects and information are shaped to ensure that they are consistent with human needs.

If you are working with people in need (see Who we help), perhaps design could help you meet your objectives and improve the lives of the people you work with.

Spaces Are the spaces you use appropriately designed? Are they accessible to the people who use them? Are they adapted to the activities they will be used for? Do your temporary shelter structures provide adequate protection and an acceptable level of comfort? Do you exploit all the possibilities that fixed and temporary spaces can offer you?

Information Is the information you transmit appropriately designed? Does your message really reach its intended audience? Is it clear for people from another culture, with another language? Do you use the right images, the right format to reach your target? Can people navigate their way through and around your spaces and projects without having to ask?

Products Are the objects you use appropriately designed? Do you have the tools and utensils you need? Do they really do what they are meant to do? And are they doing it in a safe, economical and ecologically sound way? If they need to be transported, are they easy to transport and well packaged?

If you would like to work with Design for the World to explore ways that design can improve your work for people in need, please send an email to info@designfortheworld.org
